Tektronix AFG3101 Arbitrary Function Generator
The Tektronix AFG3101 is a single channel Arbitrary Function Generator from the AFG3000 Series by Tektronix. This instrument offers a sampling rate of 1 GS/s and 10 Vp-p amplitude. The Tektronix AFG3101 is a powerful 100 MHz Function Generator, 14 bits arbitrary waveform generator, and 50 MHz pulse generator. Thus, this single instrument is designed with many valuable functions. The AFG3101 can provide 12 standard waveforms (including Pulse, Gaussian, Square, Ramp, etc.). In addition, the user can proceed with creating, editing, and saving their own, customized waveforms.
This model has four run modes. The user can push the desired run mode button to choose the instrument’s signal output method. In its default configuration, the AFG3101 operates in Continuous Run mode always. However, the user can get their instrument operated to generate modulating waveforms, sweeping waveforms, and triggered burst waveforms as well. With this model, the user can also produce Gated bust waveform with ease. In the gated burst mode, the instrument`s output is enabled or disabled by the internal or external gate signal applied through the front-panel mount trigger input connector.
While in the sweeping waveform mode of operation, the AFG3101 allows the user to set various sweep parameters, such as start/stop frequency, sweep time, return time, frequency span, hold time, center frequency, etc. This Arbitrary Function Generator comes equipped with various communication interfaces. Thus, remote controlling and networking with other instruments is not an issue. The Tektronix AFG3101 supports synchronous operation and offers ground isolation as well.
