The AFG3252 offers AM, FM, and PM modulation for all carrier waveforms except DC, Noise, and Pulse. This model accepts an internal or external modulation source. While generating internal modulating waveforms, this model offers a maximum waveform length of 4,096 for AM and 2,048 for FM/P M. The AFG3252 operates with an internal modulating frequency of 2 mHz to 50.00 kHz. The Tektronix AFG3252 also offers frequency shift keying, pulse width modulation, and sweep capabilities for different carrier waveforms.

The AFG3252 offers Linear and Logarithmic types of sweeping with 1 ms to 300 s and 0 ms to 300 s sweep time. Thus, the maximum total sweep time achievable while working with this model is 300 s. This model offers two modulation inputs: Channel 1 and Channel 2. These modulation inputs are designed to receive signals within a frequency range of DC to 25 kHz (122 kS/s).
