Tektronix CSA803C Communications Signal Analyzer

Particularly intended for communications applications, the Tektronix CSA803C Communications Signal Analyzer is the perfect apparatus for the design and evaluation of datacomm/telecomm elements, transceiver subassemblies, and transmission frameworks. The CSA803C Oscilloscope creates estimation results, not just raw data, with time and voltage histograms, mask testing, and statistical pulse parameter estimations. It has a communications-tailored estimation set that incorporates jitter, noise, duty cycle, overshoot, undershoot, extinction ratio, and amplitude estimations. In addition, the mask testing of SDH/SONET, Fiber Channel, and different standards improves compliance testing. A full color display mode allows the user to segregate waveform subtle elements. A color-graded display mode includes a third measurement called sample density to the signal acquisitions and analysis. Color hardcopy capacities enable the user to precisely report their estimation results.

The measured quality of the instrument gives the user a chance to pick the correct bandwidth sampling head for their application, including a 2.5 GHz high impedance (100 k Ohm), low capacitance (0.475 pF) SD-14 up to 50 GHz with the SD-32. Bandwidth tests are also accessible for building an aggregate acquisition and estimation solutions.

Notwithstanding its full-work DC-coupled 4.0 GHz trigger (normal), the CSA803C offers an inherent, AC-coupled 12.5 GHz pre-scaler trigger for direct triggering on rapid data at bit rates, including 9.953 GB/S OC192/STM64. Clients doing pass/fail testing to communications standards benefit from the magnificent metastability attributes of these triggers. Metastability is a condition of all logic gadgets when they do not latch to a valid ON or OFF logic level and can happen amid trigger events with all sampling oscilloscopes and circuits under test.
