Tektronix TDS3032 Oscilloscope

The TDS3032 Tektronix oscilloscope has the colossal capacity to work persistently for approximately two hours from the rechargeable battery pack. A triangular symbol on the screen demonstrates when the battery is being used, a plug icon demonstrates when the line is connected, and an indicator icon demonstrates the level of charge in the battery. The spinning oscilloscope turns out automatically when the battery runs out; the screen will turn white a couple of minutes before the programmed shutdown. NiCad batteries appear to lose capacity if they are not permitted to discharge occasionally. To prevent this, every few months, turn on the oscilloscope until it shuts off and afterward recharge the battery totally to keep the battery at maximum execution.

For safe operation, the oscilloscope chassis ought to dependably stay at earth ground potential. Without an association between the chassis and earth ground, the user can receive a shock from uncovered metal on the chassis if they connect an input to an unsafe voltage (>30 VRMS, >42 Vpk). Protection against this condition is given when the user connects the Tektronix-provided grounding wire from the terminal on the back board to earth ground. If an alternate grounding wire is used, it must be no less than 18 gauges.

The QuickMenu highlight included on the TDS3032 improves the utilization of the oscilloscope. When the QUICKMENU button is selected, an arrangement of frequently utilized menu functions will appear on the display. The user can then push the screen button around the display to operate the QuickMenu function.
