Tektronix TDS7104 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope

The Tektronix TDS7104 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope has a roll mode that offers a screen comparative on a band recorder for low recurrence signals. The roll mode permits the user to see the obtained information points without waiting for the acquisition of a full waveform record. For example, in the ordinary acquisition mode, when the horizontal scale is 1 second for every division, 10 seconds are needed to fill waveform record. Without the roll mode, the user must wait 10 seconds to see that the position control will be erroneously arranged. With the roll mode, the user will see the results instantly.  As subsequent waveforms are acquired, this oscilloscope retains the running minimum (Min) and maximum (Max) values contiguous sample intervals, making an envelope of the amount of waveforms the user points out. When that specified number of waveforms is reached, the data will be cleared and the process begins again. This may be comparable to the Peak Detect Mode. However, envelope mode gathers peaks through a large number of trigger events, unlike Peak Detect Mode.

The Tektronix TDS7104 Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope has a Waveform Database technology that allows the oscilloscope to process bigger samples of data. The waveform database will be a three-dimensional aggregation of source waveform information over several acquisitions. In addition to amplitude and timing information, the database incorporates a count of the number that a particular waveform point has acquired. The database is 200 lines toward 500 columns, with a 64-bit counter to each pixel area.
